Congratulations to all our fantastic GCSE students who received their results today.
We are pleased to say that they have recorded excellent results, despite all the problems they have faced during the pandemic, with 66% of students achieving a standard pass in both English and Maths and 38% achieving the strong pass (2 x Grade 5s) in both subjects. In addition, 22% of students achieved the English Baccalaureate suite of qualifications.
Students in many subjects performed exceptionally well, with English, Maths, French, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Dance, Drama, History, Religious Studies and many others all recording results of well over 70%.
Ian Gates, Principal, said, "I want to congratulate all our students on their success. To record these results in any year would be exceptional, but set against the backdrop of the pandemic, it really is remarkable how well they have performed. I would also like to thank all the staff at The Cowplain School for going above and beyond over the last 2 years to support our young people, which was what many of the students and their parents were saying to me today. We wish all our young people all the best for the next stage of their lives."
